NERDY TEEN BECOMES URBAN LEGEND IN NEW SCI-FI NOVEL
Young Local Author Unveils First of Teen Superhero Series
 
[Denare Beach, SK – 21 July 2017] Superhero stories never go out of fashion, as evidenced by San Diego Comic-Con International’s numbers that continuously go up – with over 135,000 attendees expected annually and more than 1.5 million Twitter followers. Young author Lee Ward joins the ranks of superhero and sci-fi storytellers with his new book, The Adventures of The Guardian: Urban Legends. Ward’s novel has the heart of a true superhero tale, the qualities of a solid sci-fi story, and a protagonist that teen and middle-grade readers will undeniably root for in this origins story.
 
The Adventures of The Guardian: Urban Legends by Lee Ward follows the awkward and naive Kevin Rigby, a regular teenaged boy and comic book nerd. After a class field trip to Eureka Industries, he starts to experience strange things and discovers he possesses remarkable powers. He decides to apply his new skills by becoming a superhero known as The Guardian.
 
However, Kevin soon learns that being a superhero isn't like it appears in the comics. People need rescuing, criminals target you, cats get stuck in trees, your friends get kidnapped, and you fall asleep in class. As Kevin finds himself confronting mysterious disappearances, a string of arsons, and a real-life super villain known as the Dragon, he must balance the humdrum problems of an average teenager while keeping his powers and identity a secret from his friends and family.
 
Can Kevin save his friends, stop the Dragon, and keep his hometown, Braxton, from burning?

Lee Ward has always enjoyed books, especially stories about heroes and superheroes. When not writing, he enjoys reading—including indulging his passion for science fiction and comic books, as well as all things scientific and historical.
